A Practise of Discovery

Alongside new paintings, I am developing The Friedman Museum—a long-term archive dedicated to preserving not only finished works, but the process of discovery they record—and the continuing dialogue they invite.
Installation Studies
These ongoing installation studies explore how painting transforms architectural space. Rather than existing as isolated objects, the works are conceived in dialogue with light, shadow, movement, and the surrounding environment.
The floating presentation allows each painting to exist as an independent presence within the architecture, where space itself becomes part of the experience. Each installation asks not only how painting occupies space, but how it can transform the way we move through it.

Explores how painting transforms the experience of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic rotunda, where architecture, movement, and light become active participants in the experience of the work.

Envisions a permanent home where paintings, writings, installation studies, and the continuing record of artistic discovery remain together as a living archive for future generations of artists, scholars, and visitors.

Examines the dialogue between painting and contemporary architecture, where space itself becomes an active participant in the experience of the work.
Media
An evolving archive of interviews, publications, broadcasts, and essays documenting not only the work itself, but the ideas, discoveries, and continuing dialogue from which it emerges.

Noetic Field

Mixed media on unstretched canvas

Prepared over weeks and realized during a single uninterrupted act of discovery, Noetic Field is presented unstretched, allowing the painting to remain physically connected to the process that created it. Rather than offering an immediate conclusion, it rewards sustained looking, revealing new relationships through time, distance, light, and attention. Floating slightly from the wall, the work occupies space as an object rather than an image alone. Each encounter becomes part of the painting's continuing dialogue with its viewer.

The Friedman Museum
The Friedman Museum is conceived as a living archive where paintings, writings, installation studies, and decades of artistic inquiry remain together as the enduring record of a lifelong practice of discovery. It exists not only to preserve finished works, but to invite future generations to continue the dialogue those works begin.
Studio Practise
Maintaining an active studio dedicated to the continuing exploration of painting, installation, and architecture. Each new body of work begins not with a predetermined image, but with curiosity, allowing discovery to guide the creative process.
